Seventy percent of the Lebanon’s freshwater is contaminated with sewage. The impact on potable water, fishery, and farming is growing every day, leading to health problems, ban on Lebanese agricultural exports, and general distrust in local products. Dr. Mardini argued that this is a standard example of the tragedy of the commons, and suggested the privatization of water.
