LIMS was invited by the Transparency International Lebanon to attend a workshop on August 28, 2023. The main goal of this event was to build cooperation between civil society organizations to combat corruption and work together on actionable plans for networking and communicating with citizens and local communities to encourage reporting of corruption. LIMS COO, Kristelle Mardini, explained in her intervention how LIMS identified and combatted corruption during the subsidy program imposed by the government in 2020.  She described the chaos that resulted when gas stations were overwhelmed with long lines of cars due to subsidized gas, leading to widespread smuggling and gas shortages.
